WOMEN’S HIKING TRIPS
Fiordland & the Southern Lakes
This summer we're heading into the bush, along the lakes and up onto the ridgelines of Fiordland and the Southern Lakes.
Small groups of women, led by guides who care as much about how you feel as where you're going.
Multi-day backcountry trips for most adventure appetites.

Each trip has a Wild Factor from 1 (gentle) to 5 (our biggest adventures). What’s my Wild Factor?
-

4–6 JANUARY | Mt Titiroa
Wild Factor 3
The pale granite peak you can spot from almost anywhere in the basin. We boat across the river at Manapouri, climb through classic beech forest and break out onto moon-like alpine tops, then boat home from Hope Arm to give tired legs the easy way out.
-

22–25 January | George Sound
Wild Factor 4
One of Fiordland’s true wilderness routes, deep in the heart of the national park. We boat across the lakes, walk in through remote, rugged country to George Sound, and fly out over the fiord to finish. Big silence, and almost nobody else out there. -

5–8 March | Acheron Lakes
Wild Factor 5
For women with solid multi-day experience who are curious about off-track travel. We skirt the Countess Range and camp beside the Acheron Lakes, one of our all-time favourite spots, before dropping down alongside North Mavora Lake. -

12–15 March | Motatapu
Wild Factor 5
A step up for anyone ready for their next challenge. From Glendhu Bay on Lake Wānaka, the track climbs into gold-mining high country with open tussock tops, old musterers’ huts and big Central Otago skies. There are three significant climbs, and every one is worth it. -

5–7 April | Green Lake
Wild Factor 2
A quiet, little-known corner of southern Fiordland, where the hut sits on the shore of a lake formed by an ancient landslide. Getting there is half the magic: mossy goblin forest, chest-high tussock flats and still side lakes full of reflections. -

23–26 April | Hollyford
Wild Factor 3
The length of the Hollyford Valley, from the granite walls of the Darrans to the sea at Martins Bay. We follow the river through ancient rainforest and along Lake McKerrow, take on the rocky Demon Trail, then fly out over the mountains. -

14–16 May | Routeburn
Wild Factor 2
One of New Zealand’s Great Walks, in the quiet of the off-season. Alpine passes, tussock tops and forest that feels ancient, and a great introduction to multi-day hiking.
COMMUNITY TRIP | 7-10 MAY
GREENSTONE & CAPLES
Back by popular demand. Last year’s community trip (completing the Milford Track!) was such a good one that we’re doing it again over Mothers’ Day weekend.
This year it’s the Greenstone and Caples, and it’s choose your own adventure. Come for one night, do the full loop, or add Steele Creek if the snow allows, starting from The Divide or the Kinloch end.
It’s a community trip, not a guided one. You bring what you need, we sort the logistics together, and you cover your own costs.
